[2023]Caution for passengers travelling to Oshima, Toshima, Niijima, Shikinejima or Kozushima by large ship between July 23rd and September 19th

Tokai Kisen, the shipping company connecting the main island with the Izu Islands, reported cancellations and changes to some summer large ship routes on the 19th of July. If you have already booked or are considering to go to OSHIMA, TOSHIMA, NIIJIMA, SHIKINEJIMA or KOZUSHIMA island between the 23rd of July and the 19th of September, please check the new schedules. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Oshima Island Visitors

If you head to/come back from Oshima island, the arrival or departure times may have changed. Please make sure to check the new schedule before you boarding any of the large ferries.

1. Those heading TO Oshima by large ship between the 23rd of July and the 31st of July

Departure from Takeshiba Pier, Tokyo, is at 11:00pm, with an earlier arrival time of 4:30AM.

2. Those heading TO Oshima by large ship between the 1st of August and the 18th of September

The large boat departing from Takeshiba Pier, Tokyo, at 11:00pm will change to arrive at Oshima at 5:45AM.

3. Those travelling FROM Oshima to Tokyo between the 24th of July and the 1st of August

Large ship from Oshima island to Tokyo changes its departure to 1:15PM and arrival to 6:30PM.

4. Those travelling FROM Oshima to Tokyo between the 2nd of August and the 19th of September

Large ship from Oshima island to Tokyo changes its departure to 1:30PM and arrival to 6:30PM.

Toshima, Niijima, Shikinejima or Kozushima Island Visitors

Unfortunately, the large ships departing from the 1st of August won't dock at these islands. Please make sure to check the following information, as there are different ways to get to these islands for those who have already booked a boat ticket and those who have not.

1. Those who have ALREADY PURCHASED a ticket for a large ship from Tokyo to each island between the 1st of August and the 18th of September

A large ship will take you to Oshima Island and a temporary fast jet ferry will operate from Oshima. The timetable will be announced as soon as possible.

2. Those who have ALREADY PURCHASED a ticket for a large ship departing from Tokyo to each island between the 2nd of August and the 19th of September

A temporary jet ferry will take you to Oshima Island and a large ferry will operate from Oshima. The timetable will be announced as soon as possible.

3. Those who HAVEN'T YET PURCHASED tickets for the large ships travelling between Tokyo and each island between the 1st of August and the 18th of September

Larger ships are cancelled. Please use jet ferries or other transport.
