Welcome to the Tokyo Islands’ website! Tokyo Islands provides comprehensive information to all tourists wishing to visit any (or all!) of the nine Izu Islands from Tokyo, Japan. Through our website, you can plan your itinerary by reserving ferry tickets, accommodation and leisure activities. You will also find recommendations for popular tourist spots, restaurants, transport on the islands and fun things to do. Tokyo Islands not only offers information, but also provides support to the islanders of the Izu Islands to facilitate their interaction with non-Japanese visitors. The team is made up of bilingual writers who have worked on the Izu Islands guidebooks and other international members who love the Izu Islands.

Why promote the Izu Islands to the rest of the world?

We launched our tourism information website for the Izu Islands in 2014. Our aim in promoting the Izu Islands to the world is not to make them a 'popular resort'. Our aim is to create new synergies by connecting the islands with people who will fall in love with the small but powerful volcanic islands, which are a home to around 20,000 people in total on the nine islands of the Izu archipelago. And it is our hope that the lives of those who encounter the Izu Islands will be enriched, just as ours have been.

The people of the Izu Islands have preserved the nature, cherished their family and friends, loved their own culture, and sometimes worshipped the mountains as gods, weaving the history of the islands.

There are no luxury hotels or convenience stores the same way as there are in the rest of Japan. However, the islanders remind us that it is important to accept 'what is and what is not' and to discover the charm of the islands as they are. Some islands are active volcanoes and erupt periodically. The rare nature that was born because the islands are still naturally active, the unique culture that was born because there was a time when it was difficult to cross over to the main islands, and the way people originally interacted with each other - these are things that you won't find easily anywhere else, and that is why they are so valuable. We hope to spread the charm of the Izu Islands to as many people as possible.
